“I helped them unleash something from the moon…The blood is on my hands if we can’t stop them.” - Chandra
MOONCHILD's concept is a PS1 Sci-fi Action Horror game (with a Yuri subtext) where you switch controls between Chandra and Tina to aid each other from afar. The government was conducting experiments on living organisms on the moon code-named “Moonchildren” but a breach has occurred. They decided to abandon the site, providing no help or rescue.
The soundtrack reflects melancholy and tenseness with
“Terminal -- Archive” and “Area 51 -- Area 52” having dynamic elements for switching control between Chandra and Tina on Moon and Earth respectively. Despite sounding mainly futuristic, tape distortions and vinyl elements were utilized to convey the Cassette Futurism aesthetic. The calmer parts were meant for puzzle-solving and exploration, which complements the more intense music intended for ambushes and combat.
